yay new stuff!

I had my new mold, , brown mica colour, soap base and Kamasutra oil arrive today....so guess I'm making soap tomorrow!

After a small poll on Facebook I have decided I will make lip balms in a tube! Late last night I also found some yummy recipes for soap that I intend to create as well, some are: Buttercream bar, Choc lovers silky soap, Cucumber Ivy swirl mint soap and Vanilla Honey Oatmeal! What do you think of those? Some feedback in the comments section would be good :)

On a side not about my Lavender soap...so far it is lovely on the body but it was too drying on MY face, must ask Mum if she has used it on her face? I don't usually put soap on my face but seeing as I know EXACTLY what is in my soaps I thought I would give it a go...but no, too drying for me.

I love trial and error.

Ha looks like my font has changed again lol, I do like this font much better as it is easier to read...I had tried and tried to change it from the original and could not figure out how to do it, hope it stays this way LOL!

Ps, okay just viewed blog, never mind it is back to the original...weird much?!

Can't wait

I am super (soaper lol) excited, I have made a big order of soap base and FRAGRANCES! I am seriously looking forward to playing around with these. I ordered Cinnamon Stick and Strawberry Cherry Delight, I can almost smell them as soaps now! I also have another mold and some gorgeous brown mica colour coming too. Oops not to forget the Kamasutra oil, lol will be patiently waiting every day to see the courier van arrive with all my goodies.
And I have no idea why my font has just changed on me??

I have 6 bars of Lavender soap made up, I think I will make some balms to compliment these soaps. Maybe sell as a set? Lavender is just so divine for the whole family...even babies, it is soothing and calming so would be ideal to use at night-time in the bath or shower. Mum and I are testing bars of the Lavender out at the moment, have had good reviews from Mum and I'm finding it very nice too...yay success!

Happy Soaper

My first batch of soap has turned out awesome! The colours are really neat and the smell of lavender while you wash is fantastic. The soaps are 185g so they are nice big bars and should last at least 4-5 weeks. I will be selling these for $7 in the future.

The next batch I am going to make up is going to be based off the Kamasutra love oil smell, I am really looking forward to making this one up.

I will post pics up of the end product...when Shane (my Son) gives me my phone back, he is busy playing games on it lol.

First attempt with melt and pour soap

So excited, got my base today and some gorgeous purple mica colour, it is so metallic and rich, so I made up my first batch of soap!
The fragrance is 100% Lavender, a pure essential oil. The photos sadly are not good at all as I am yet to buy myself a camera :(
The top deep purple soaps are a vibrant metallic and the bottom soaps are a creamy, milky lilac colour.
I do have small bubbles on the surface of the soap so I will need to buy some Isopropyl as soon as possible to combat this.
Now I sit back and wait for it to cool down and set...then I will be able to see if I was successful or not!
I have decided that seeing as my name is 'sapphire' Soapworks, like the gem, I would like to 'specialize' in vibrant, glitter-ish soaps, just like jewels.

Yes I can tell I am going to enjoy this journey very much :)

Sapphire Soapworks is born

Well after much research I found that my old 'name' was already in use by various different places and people...and I wasn't too sure if I was 100% happy with it anyway...so I got to thinking, it took me ages and I wanted something that was kind of 'me'.
I'm born in September, with the lovely blue Sapphire stone as my birthstone. I have often used 'Sapphire' as ID's on the internet over the years, or variations of.

So...Sapphire Soapworks was born! And I'm rather happy with it.
